Stolen lion on radio
No such thing as a coincidence! Just before my departure to South Africa, I was invited to tell the story behind “The Lion Sleeps Tonight” on the radio show OVT (Radio 1). The original, “Mbube” comes from South Africa and was written by Solomon Linda. In America the song was transformed into the version we all know and millions were made. Solomon Linda died a poor man, his family filed a lawsuit against Disney.. it became a whole story with a problematic ending. We tried to cram it into a 10 minute radio item. Not an easy task, but I think we succeeded;)
